To Whom It May Concern: I recently purchased a framed icon of St. Athena from Religious Mall and am very pleased, both with the icon and with the speed with which my order was fulfilled. However, I have a bit of a dilemma. I've checked with the Archdioceses of America and Australia as well as the church of Greece's websites to find information about St. Athena. The only information I have is that here memory is commemorated on September 1. Does anyone know anything about her life, or how she was martyred? It is very important that I find out whatever I can about this Righteous Martyr before giving her icon to my neice when she is baptized, as her mother is not Orthodox and is bound to ask about her life.
